Well, for me, as what is commonly happening to us, we depend to our neighbor country every time we encountered problems. Do you think it's just alright? Of course, some would answer yes/no. Anyway, it's only a matter of helping each other, but we also have to try or best to improved our economy. The question now is, how are we going to improve our economy?

Is it right for a country to depend so heavily for it's survival on it's neighbor or some other country? Why can't Mexico develop it's economy independent of US. Being a border country, trade with US will always be more advantageous and easy but they should not put all their eggs in one basket.

My point was that our depression is going to be their depression, and our turnaround will be theirs as well.

Mexico City is experiencing bad year this time. I think, all countries do feel the economic crisis, right? These situations are beyond our control and our future cannot be predicted. Good thing the United States is there to support them.

Mexico City in particular is taking a hit financially as well because of the swine flu. The timing of this could really make their economic situation even worse. And then there was the recent earthquake - I guess that could have been much worse than it was.

Dark shadow huh? I guess so... Didn't think about it until now when you mentioned it actually. So Mexico suffers the way we does.

I've traveled to Mexico a few times in recent years, and it feels strange to hear the travel advisories against the country, whether they're official or not.

I think that the discussion about legalizing some drugs to destroy the illegal economy is a very interesting conversation. Maybe legalizing Marijuana would be a good move, but I'm sure the drug cartels would adjust to something else quite quickly.
